In connection with the start of school at Kold College in August, AlgaeFood organised a collective trip to Kerteminde beach for the new students. The aim of the trip was to introduce the students to the "pantry" of the sea and the beach, as well as to strengthen the bond between the students.
On the beach, the pupils explored the coastal ecosystem and collected a variety of wild raw materials - including different types of seaweed, crabs and beach herbs. Under guidance, they learnt how to identify, harvest and sustainably use these raw materials.
The day ended with the students cooking a delicious meal together over the campfire using the ingredients they had collected. It was an educational, sensory and cosy day that not only gave the pupils new knowledge about the resources of the sea, but also laid the foundations for a good community.
